Recently, the National Commendation Conference for Scientific and Technological Innovation and Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Awards in Colleges and Universities was held in Beijing, at which the Decision of the Ministry of Education on Awards for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Awards (Science and Technology) in Colleges and Universities in 2021 and 2022 was read out. The project "Key Technologies and Applications for Improving Service Performance of Large Wind Turbines", which was completed with the contribution of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering of our school, won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award, and the project "Research and Development and Application of Core Technologies of Offshore Energy Storage Power Equipment" won the second prize of Technology Invention Award.

The project "Key Technologies and Applications for Improving Service Performance of Large Wind Turbines" was presided over by Professor Huang Shoudao of Hunan University. Teacher Liu Ting from School of Electrical and Information Engineering of our school participated in the research work related to the design of multi-winding modular permanent magnet wind turbine, and put forward the design method of permanent magnet wind turbine. Teacher Xie Qiuyue participated in the research work related to the topology structure of multi-winding modular permanent magnet wind turbine and its converter system, and put forward the optimal design and control method of permanent magnet wind turbine. The project "R&D and Application of Core Technology of Offshore Energy Storage Power Equipment" was presided over by Professor Wang Jun of Hunan University. Zhao Zhenxing, a teacher from the School of Electrical and Information Engineering of our school, participated in the design of the overall scheme of the project, undertook the design of the control system of offshore energy storage power supply, and participated in the development of intelligent drive of SiC power devices.

The Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research in Colleges and Universities (Science and Technology), established by the Ministry of Education, is mainly awarded to individuals and units that have made outstanding contributions in scientific discovery, technological invention and promotion of scientific and technological progress. It is one of the important scientific and technological awards, second only to the National Natural Science Award, the National Technological Invention Award and the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
